Meet Our Owner

I am Latoya, the proud owner of Godly Gifted LLC, and a native of a small town in North Carolina. I was raised by a supportive and prayerful village that kept us grounded in church throughout my upbringing. Christianity became a cornerstone of my life during those formative years, and to this day, I still enjoy attending church.

In December 2008, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from North Carolina Central University. My professional journey began at KinderCare Learning Center, where I nurtured and educated young minds. Shortly after, I embraced the incredible journey of motherhood, welcoming my first son. Today, I am a proud mother of two boys, whom I have raised on my own with the grace of God and the support of my family. Growing up in a single-parent household and later raising my boys in one, I felt a deep calling to break barriers and create a better life for us. That calling became one of the driving forces behind the creation of Godly Gifted LLC.

Currently (as of January 29, 2024), I work as a middle school encore teacher, teaching Family and Consumer Sciences. Before this role, I taught four-year-olds at Head Start. My journey into entrepreneurship truly took shape in 2020 during the pandemic. While the pandemic brought challenges for many, it became a blessing in disguise for me. With extra time on my hands, I discovered and developed several creative gifts, including crafting with Cricut and sublimation, baking delicious treats, and creating flavorful lemonade. These newfound skills laid the foundation for my business.

Before launching Godly Gifted LLC, I gained my first entrepreneurial experience as an independent consultant for Banging Bangles, a company based in Raleigh, NC. These experiences taught me that I could push beyond my comfort zone, accomplish anything I set my mind to, and motivated me to pursue my dreams. However, my journey wasn’t without obstacles. Procrastination, technical difficulties, self-sabotage, and overthinking often hindered my progress. Despite the setbacks, I refused to give up.

In October 2022, I attended the Unleash the Champion retreat, where I was surrounded by like-minded women striving for personal and business growth. During a powerful prayer session, two women spoke over me at different times. One encouraged me to “dream big,” while the other said I was destined to create something of my own and that my gifts would place me before great men. These words resonated deeply with me and planted seeds of inspiration.

One day, while lying in bed, the words "Godly Gifted" repeatedly came to mind. I knew they meant something significant and believed they were divinely placed in my heart. At the time, I wasn’t sure what to do with them, but the vision began to unfold. I came across online T-shirt business masterminds and watched free classes, gathering enough information to take my first steps. With limited funds but abundant faith, I decided to create a clothing brand using the name Godly Gifted.

I firmly believe that all my gifts come from God. My prayer is that my store inspires others to recognize their own talents and step out on faith. Trust that God will open doors to greater opportunities for you, just as He has for me. For years, I prayed, “Lord, make my name great,” without knowing what that greatness would look like. Proverbs 18:16, which you will find on some of my items, serves as a powerful reminder: “A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.”

I hope this message stirs up the gifts within you. You already have what it takes, and there is no limit to what God can do in your life. Trust Him and take that leap of faith. Now, get up and let’s make it happen!
